2016-17 USA Debate: Statement of Recommendation
Students should secure TWO statements of recommendation, one from their school COACH/SPONSOR and one from their PRINCIPAL/ADMINISTRATOR, indicating support for the student's application.
Each recommendation should include the name of reference, title, school, and summer contact information in case follow-up is required.
The statement of recommendation signed by the COACH/SPONSOR (not to exceed 500 words) should begin with the following statement: "I highly recommend [Student Name] for application to the USA Debate team. The applicant represents the best our school/program has to offer as a representative of the national team."
The statement of recommendation signed by the PRINCIPAL/ADMINISTRATOR should read as follows: "I highly recommend [Student Name] for application to the USA Debate team. The applicant represents the best our school/program has to offer as a representative of the national team."
Please use the student's legal name as it appears in the Points Application. Do not use nicknames.
